I got married to my husband last April and Im very happy we did. However, it can get pretty lonely at times. Im in So. Calif (orange county) and he is up in Northern Calif. He is on deathrow so he doesnt have a release date but we are fighting to prove he is innocent and hopfully he will get a new trial and come home soon. We only get to visit one weekend a month because I cant afford to go more often. I was wondering if anyone lived in Calif and if so if you would contact me. I know alot of people think its ok to be with someone in prison but being married to someone on deathrow is different. Even other prisoners wifes look down on me. I do not think being with someone on death row is much different than what the rest of us are dealing with except it must be 100 times harder on you. I cannot imagine that feeling. It is hard on all of us but for you much more. Good Luck with the new trial I hope it works out for you. I have had so many people who have relationships with inmates treat me like Im a fool for loving my husband. Ive even had some of them say if he killed someone he should die. That I should leave him because he deserves to have no one in life. Well first of all I believe he is innocent and have proof that the witnesses were paid either money or had major cases like kidnapping and murder dropped if they would take the stand against him. Also, the real person who killed the people has admitted he did it. There is so much proof that was not brought out in his trial because of his attorney not knowing what to do with his case. He was a divorce attorney that the court appointed and had never handled a criminal case before. Now the state is trying to claim all the proof he has should not be allowed because in CA you only have 21 days to request a hearing due to new findings. You would think with a persons life on the line they wouldnt care how long it was if you can prove you are innocent then you should be allowed to present it. Anyway some people believe convicted of murder is more then they can understand and anyone who is married to them is a fool. Thanks for being understanding and knowing that loving someone in prison is really the same no matter if it someone who is there for a year, life or on deathrow. Its hard and lonely and we deal with enough put downs that we dont need them from each other.

Hi. I am so new at this. Last evening no less. I have been at this for over 10 years trying to go it alone. It is getting harder for the both of us, mainly he, so am seeking support and the hope of giving some back. The saving grace for me has been my sense of humor which has gotten me through many, many things in life but all of a sudden I find that once I leave work, leave the friendship and laughter and come home I am more and more unable to feel happy. My son has always been an up person but today I received a card from him that altho he tried to sound up I knew that he wasn't. His birthday is coming up which of course doesn't help. That along with his prison being on lockdown for quite awhile.
Sorry for going on but I really have no one to talk to it all about. Some at work know the situation saying that they understand but of course unless you're in the situation how can you. I hope to reach others that I can share thoughts, ideas and maybe help.
