We know that these times can be especially difficult for children. This forum is exactly like the one above, but is reserved for the younger members of our community. It's brand new, so if you hurry, you can be the first to make your mark!
Share your incarcerated loved one's poetry with the outside world. No materials may be reproduced without written permission from the author. Copyright prior to posting is recommended. Poet retains all rights to their material.
At our 1998 prison art show there were 5 black bars mounted in a cement foundation. This free standing sculpture had a mission. It was to be filled with papers holding remembrances from loved ones for those of us held behind bars and their families. By the end of the art show the bars were filled with written remembrances. This is our web site's equivalent. Please leave a message, a name or words to remember those of us behind bars and our families. Example: " For Johnny, serving his 18th year. Your family is still waiting and we love you." Anything heart felt.
Suffering the loss of a loved one during times of incarceration is devastating and can be an isolating event. We are considered disenfranchised grievers. We may find a lack of sympathy or empathy for our grief. Here we have a safe place to express the grief we feel for lost loved ones both inside and outside of the system.
